Your Baby’s Possible Birth Injury

If you have been reading any of our other blog posts we have discussed how some babies develop spinal misalignments and how these come about during the birthing process. That information may have caused you some concern or anxiety about the health and well-being of your baby. It is good that you become aware of certain things that may happen to your baby, but there is no need to be overly concerned at this point.

Signs to Look For

Therefore, let us look at some signs that may help you to see whether or not you should consider having your baby examined to determine if they have an upper neck misalignment. Sometimes these signs are easy to ignore, but if you know what to look for you will be in a better position to make that decision. Common signs are colic, constipation, GERD or acid reflux, any number of digestive problems, and ear infections (due to improper drainage because of nerve damage).

The Upper Cervical Solution

Your baby may not be suffering from any of these symptoms, but they may be dealing with some kind of pain or other symptoms. Do they always lie on their back? Do they always have their head turned in one direction? Can you feel if their muscular structure in their lower back, near the pelvis, is evenly aligned or does one side feel tighter than the other?

It may be hard to determine this on your own. We understand that there is no such thing as being too concerned when it comes to the health of your baby. Taking necessary steps to be on top of things is a good idea. This means seeking out the care of an upper cervical chiropractor, such as Dr. Jeff Leach of Plymouth, Minnesota.

What will he do to examine your baby? This form of chiropractic focuses on realigning the spine. There is no popping, twisting, or cracking of the spine. In fact, it is a very gently readjustment. Your baby will feel no pain or discomfort.

To learn more, call Dr. Leach today and have him check your baby as soon as possible. It can make a world of difference in their development, growth and health.
